This Is Private Property
From the moment we're old enough to understand, we are taught how to share, play nice, be kind, and love others. The lesson of loving other people is pushed onto us almost immediately. However, when do we learn to love ourselves? Who teaches us this? No one! It's like we're expected to love ourselves automatically. Nevertheless, if we are taught to love others, shouldn't we also learn how to love ourselves?
In this book, This Is Private Property, I talk about how choosing to address & overcome the darkness of my childhood, overcoming depression, dealing with family estrangement, moving on after failed relationships, and learning to be myself eventually led to a life I could be proud of. In my opinion, developing a positive, healthy, and enjoyable lifestyle will not only make you a better individual, but it will also give you the confidence to enforce the boundaries necessary for living a happy, successful life. Prentis Hemphill once said, “Boundaries are the distance at which I can love you and me simultaneously.”

“One of the standout features of this book is its relatability. Jones’s experiences and the lessons he shares are deeply personal yet universally applicable. His story serves as a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we are not alone. The book is not just about waiting on God; it’s about learning how to wait. It teaches us that maybe God didn’t say, “No.” Maybe God is saying, "Not yet." This perspective shift can be a game-changer for anyone going through a difficult time.”

We all go through unique tribulations in our lives, and this is a book about how the author overcame his by aligning himself with godly principles. I liked that it didn't read like a religious book but portrayed the steps you have to take while waiting for God's intervention. That is powerful!
